The 2008 elections are over, the voters have spoken, and a significant number heard my message and shared my vision. When the dust cleared I had received 1129 votes, good for 5.83% of the total in the York County Council District One race.

This was my first run in a partisan race, and when I started the process in March I had set a personal goal of 5-10%. As a third party candidate with both Republican and Democratic opponents, I wanted to avoid the 1-3% most third party candidates achieve. With your help, WE DID IT!!!

The citizens of York County are showing an increased openness toward third parties and the issues they bring into play. There is growing frustration with the "big two" and more people are looking for candidates who share their values, concerns and solutions to the problems we all face.

There were three third party and one independent candidate on the ballot for President. These candidates received 1267 votes in York County, with Libertarian Candidate Bob Barr earning 524 of these votes.

The Constitution Party was represented in the U.S. House, District 5 race by Frank Waggoner. Waggoner pulled in 1410 York County votes, good for 1.55% of the total.

It is my hope that the 2008 election is the first step toward the election of a third party candidate in York County, and the beginning of a trend that will result in York County taking the lead in South Carolina political action!

In the end I have to say this has been a positive year and successful campaign season. I would like to thank my volunteers and supporters who made my campaign successful, the media who covered my campaign fairly and evenly, and most of all the voters who supported my campaign at the ballot box.

Thank you all!

Bryan
